Lancaster County Little League players, along with parents and Youth Club of Lancaster County board members, recently picked 3,413 pounds of sweet corn to donate to the Healthy Harvest Food Bank in Warsaw.
The food bank serves six counties in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. Dwight Forrester of Holyoke Farms Inc. in Alfonso organizes the annual effort.
Forrester, who serves as president of the youth club, plants a corn crop each year specifically for harvest for the food bank.
