The Lancaster County Public Schools County-wide Art Show will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 21, at Lancaster Middle School (LMS), 191 School Street, Kilmarnock.
Artwork from all three schools will be displayed in the LMS gym, said Lancaster Primary School art teacher Kendra Hunt. All entries for the Edible Art Contest will be available in the LMS cafeteria. Edible art will be on display from 9 to10 a.m., and available for everyone to eat from 10 a.m. noon. There will be face painting and henna tattoos.
Prizes will be awarded in several categories. A special thank you goes to the Rappahannock Art League (RAL), who generously donated money to buy medals and ribbons, said Hunt.
RAL artists who helped judge the student work include Nadine Flood, Susan Christopher, Sukey Starkey, Natalie Jackson and Eileen Tullner, she said.
Also a big thank you goes out to the PTAs who provided the funding for edible art cash prizes, said Hunt.
