The Chesapeake Bay Croquet Club (CBCC), 1834 Twiggs Ferry Road, Hartfield, will hold an open house at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 28.
The CBCC will hold free lessons and guided game play, reported club pro Macey White. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge. The club has all of the equipment needed so just show up, said White.
The CBCC also plans to start a croquet league for anyone who wants to play, or learn to play croquet, he said. Participants do not have to be a club member to play in the league. Beginner lessons will be held from 1-3 p.m. May 5.
The league entry fee is $20 per player and covers the cost of sanctioning the league with the United States Croquet Association and the league ending dinner party on June 10.
The league runs from May 5 to June 9. Each player will play six matches. Scheduling is flexible and players schedule their own games.
