Rappahannock swept Lancaster, 3-0, in the Northern Neck District tournament semifinals Monday, October 28, to set up a championship showdown against Northumberland.
The Indians had beaten the Raiders twice during the regular season to finish at the top of the leader board in the district and in second place in Region A. However, it was all Rappahannock in a 3-0 win at NHS in the tournament final on Wednesday, October 30.
The Raiders beat third place Lancaster, 25-18, 25-17, 25-20, to advance to the final.
Lancaster, ranked sixth in the region, secured a Region 1A tournament quarterfinal match and beat third-place Chincoteague on Monday, November 4, 3-0. Lancaster hosted Rappahannock in a semifinal match yesterday….
