Dr. Rachel P. Ball named director of Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School

The joint school board of the Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School (CBGS) on Thursday, November 7, appointed Dr. Rachel Previs Ball director.

“As the presiding superintendent for Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School, we are looking forward to the leadership Dr. Ball will bring as an alumnae of the program,” said Dr. Carol B. Carter.

Dr. Ball is the first alumnae director of CBGS. She graduated from King William High School and CBGS in 2004 and is excited to be a part of the program that served as a catalyst for her own professional endeavors, she said.

Dr. Ball completed her undergraduate, master’s and doctorate at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg. Her graduate studies were in the area of educational policy, planning and leadership.
