Firemen’s festival prep

The 83rd annual Kilmarnock Firemen’s Festival will be held July 26 through August 4 at the KVFD Carnival Grounds, 200 Waverly Avenue, Kilmarnock. Above, Rich Steensma and festival president Johnny Smith stack stuffed animals that will serve as game prizes. Carnival hours will be 7 to 10 p.m., except Sunday. The raffle grand prize is a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Sport. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased from KVFD members, at Noblett Appliance, Kilmarnock Lettering Company or Lester’s Barber Shop and at the carnival. A drawing will be held at the conclusion of the carnival on August 4, or a rain date to be announced.
