Flotilla 33 holds Change of Watch, Frans Kasteel recognized for 30 years

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 33 wrapped up a successful 2024 at a Change of Watch Ceremony in December.

Members gathered for a luncheon at the Heritage Point Clubhouse with a menu planned and prepared by culinary assistant Deana Towers.

The business portion of the time was devoted to the official swearing in of Matthew Towers as flotilla commander and Amy Thomas as vice flotilla commander, reported D. Towers. Flotilla member and District 5 Southern Region Commodore Jim Thomas administered the Oath of Office to M. Towers and A. Thomas, marking the beginning of their second term.

M. Towers joined the flotilla in 2020 just in time for COVID to stifle many activities. However, the past three years have been full of new opportunities for….
