The Northern Neck Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (NNMOAA) will present its annual Memorial Day Commemoration May 26 at Historic Christ Church, 420 Christ Church Road, Weems. The ceremony will begin with patriotic music at 11 a.m. and will continue with a formal observance at 11:30 a.m.
According to program coordinator, retired U.S. Army Maj. Edgar Doleman, the keynote speaker will be retired U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Lewis W. Crenshaw Jr.
Vice Adm. Crenshaw is a native of Greenville, Ala., and a 1974 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a bachelor’s in ocean engineering. He also is a 1979 graduate of the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School where he was the first naval flight officer named as the Navy League’s most outstanding test pilot of his class.
