Girls, Gizmos and Gadgets showcases STEM opportunities for young ladies

Teams of girls from Lancaster, Westmoreland and Richmond school systems as well as Chesapeake Academy competed in Girls, Gizmos and Gadgets.

Chesapeake Academy was excited to host Girls, Gizmos and Gadgets, a STEM competition for Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula girls in fourth, fifth and sixth grades, on March 7. The event featured teams of girls competing in five 30-minute challenge tasks.

According to the U.S. Department of Commerce Economics and Statistics Administration, “Our science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) workforce is crucial to America’s innovative capacity and global competitiveness.
