Several Heritage Arts classes have been added to the spring schedule at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville.

Coffee-time Sip and Paint-March into Spring will be offered from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. March 8. The instructor will be Celeste Johnston. Students will create a botanically-correct painting of a shamrock or favorite spring flower and transfer it to watercolor paper for painting, reported executive director Corinne Becker.
No drawing or painting experience needed. The fee is $35, plus a $5 material fee. Equipment will be provided.
Quilting for Beginners will be offered from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. March 22 and 23. Instructor Jan Jackson will teach the fundamentals of using a rotary cutter and how to machine piece a quilt, said Becker.
Participants are reminded to bring their own sewing machines, then choose from a number of coordinating fabric bundles and thread sufficient to make a 64-inch by 75-inch quilt.
The fee is $55, plus a $60 materials fee.
