Irvington regulations may conflict with recently adopted state legislation

IRVINGTON—Several bills passed in Virginia’s General Assembly this year may impact the Town of Irvington’s existing residential regulations, according to town attorney Kelly Kemp.

On Thursday, June 11, Kemp noted legislation regarding affordable housing could have an impact on the town and may conflict with existing regulations.

House Bill 655 states that manufactured homes have to be allowed anywhere site-built homes are allowed, Kemp said. Current town codes restrict modular and manufactured homes from being built.

“This bill will also apply to accessory dwelling units,” said Kemp.
