IRVINGTON—Residents appeared in full support of proposed restrictions to truck traffic passing through town on Irvington Road. Residents phoned and emailed their comments in addition to speaking up at the public hearing on Thursday, August 13, during the town council’s monthly meeting.

Like many other residents, Brian Forrester spoke of trucks speeding through town “sometimes 50 to 60 miles an hour.” Albert Pollard noted that local business Kellum Seafood is in support of re-routing trucks to Old Salem Road, and Carol Biscontini also voiced a common concern that the “high number of people that use our streets for biking, running and dog walking” are at risk due to the truck traffic.
