Irvington to sell town office, may build on North Commons

IRVINGTON—Following closed session discussions, the Irvington Town Council on Thursday, October 15, took action in open session to begin the process of building a new town office.

The first 5-0 unanimous vote authorized Mayor Albert “Tripp” Bugg to sign an agreement with Ann Meekins Realtors to sell the existing town office at 235 Steamboat Road, Irvington. It is unknown just how long the town has been using the space for town business. According to town clerk Sharon Phillips, “deed and title research is being conducted to determine exactly when the public library was transferred to the town.” Bonnie Schaschek, Frances Westbrook, Anthony Marchetti, Wayne Nunnally and Jackie Brown approved the motion. Dudley Patteson was absent.
