WEEMS—Jacqulyne “Jackie” Ward Edwards, 80, passed away on August 16, 2024, at home in Weems. Jackie was born to her late parents, Mary and Clifton Ward, on August 23, 1943, in Urbanna.
Jackie loved being with her family and socializing. She will be remembered for her free spirit, kindness and dedication to her family. She was a light and held space for anyone around her. She enjoyed evening talks on her porch, outings with friends, hosting family gatherings and naps with her puppies. Jackie naturally became the life of every party. She leaves behind memories with so many.
Jackie is proceeded in death by husband, Thomas Edwards; and former husband HB “Bubba” French whom remained special to her.
Jackie is survived by brother, Michael (Delores) Ward; four sons, Kevin (Lena), Scott (Maria), Steven (Tamie) and Jonathan (Bonita) French; grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin (Meg), Meagan, Kyle, Caitlyn and Alex French and Matt Pall; great-grandchildren, Myleigh Sikora, Nathan, Everette and Kylie French; nephews; and several close friends she considered family.
Services to honor Jackie will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 23, at Morattico Baptist Church, 924 Morattico Church Road, Kilmarnock. We ask that you wear neon colors as this was her funeral request before she passed, a true testament to who she was. She will be missed by all of those that knew and loved her.
