KILMARNOCK—Eloise “Eva” Joiner Hayes was born on August 28, 1938, and went to heaven on August 14, 2024.
Eva was a big brown eyed beautiful woman from Wrightsville, Georgia. She had a smile and laugh that would light up the room. She was a wonderful wife, mother and an amazing friend. She enjoyed dancing, shopping and cracking jokes.
In spite of obstacles she faced growing up, she was a true success story. She was raised by her grandparents who she absolutely adored. Eva was a strong and hard working woman. She studied hard, and attended college and become a psychiatrist. Eva practiced for over 25 years and owned her own practice.
Eva was a Georgia girl at heart who moved to the Northern Neck to spend the rest of her days enjoying life on water with her husband. She was proceeded in death by her two sons, Willie “Joey” Neal and Kenny Neal. She is survived by her husband, Raymond N. Sydnor.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, at Fairfields Baptist Church in Burgess. Family received friends from 1:30-2:30 p.m. prior to the service at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock.
A Celebration of Life will be held at her home at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 24. Close family and friends are welcome.
