JV Lady Devils itching for a win

Two Lancaster High alums will lead the school’s junior varsity softball team this season.

Head coach Kelli Tignor and assistant Sarah Pittman, both LHS grads and former softball players, are coaching the Lady Devils for the first time. Tignor is a 2015 graduate who teaches pre-kindergarten at Lancaster Primary School. Pittman is the bookkeeper at LHS.

Although Lancaster is off to a 0-2 start, Tignor said her young team has a lot of potential.

“Right now, we’re working on the fundamentals. But this is a good group of girls and are willing to learn. Most of them are doing other sports and lots of extracurricular activities,” she said.
