Keeve and Veney to compete in state track and field meet

Lancaster High School pole vaulters Marcus Keeve and Domonique Veney have pre-qualified for the Class 1 state track and field meet in five events each.

The Class 1 and 2 Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held June 1 and 2 at East Rockingham High School, Elkton.

Veney cleared 11’0” to win the pole vault event and Keeve cleared 10’0” to place fifth at the Caroline Invitational last Friday.

Veney has now state qualified in the pole vault, along with the 800-, 1600- and 3200-meter runs and as a member of the 4X800 relay team.

Keeve also has qualified in the pole vault, as well as the 400- and 800-meter races and as a member of both the 4X400 and 4X800 meter teams.
