Lady Devils post a win and a loss in volleyball; plan for ‘Dig Pink’ rally

Lancaster High’s volleyball teams will support the fight against breast cancer Thursday, October 17, when they host the school’s annual Dig Pink fundraising event to benefit the Side-Out Foundation. Rappahannock swept Lancaster, 3-0, last Thursday to break a five-match winning streak and hand the Lady Devils their first loss in Northern Neck District varsity volleyball.

The Raiderettes beat LHS, 25-21, 25-18 and 25-9.

Sydney Price led Lancaster on the front row with four kills and four blocks. Leighten McCranie and Riley Molineaux had three kills each and Shelby Rose had two kills and two blocks.

Molineaux led the setters with seven assists and Katherine Thomas had four. Thomas also led defensively with eight digs, while Blair Smith and Rachel Woolard had five digs each. Courtney Croasdale and Grace Oren had four digs apiece.
