One team was bound to break out of its winless slump last Friday when the 0-4 Red Devils and 0-4 Panthers met in Charles City. Unfortunately for Devil fans, it wasn’t Lancaster.
Charles City scored five times in the second half to open up a 12-2 halftime lead and pick up its first win of the season, 47-22, over LHS. CC, which has just reinstated its football program after a year off because of lack of participation, is now 1-4. The Devils are still searching for that elusive first win and are on a five-game losing streak heading into the start of Northern Neck District play tomorrow, October 11, when they host Washington & Lee.
Defensive breakdowns and sloppy play on both sides of the ball marked….
