Lady Indians complete regular season with three shutout wins

The Lady Indians recorded three shutouts in five days last week to cap regular season play with a 13-1-1 record for second place in Region 1A varsity girls soccer.

West Point went unbeaten for the top seed. With the second place finish, Northumberland earns a home berth in next week’s Region 1A tournament. The Northern Neck District tournament was set to begin May 15 with first place Washington & Lee hosting fourth place Lancaster and second place Northumberland hosting third place Essex in semifinal games. The district championship is tomorrow, May 17, at Washington & Lee.
