Lancaster and Northumberland high schools recently announced graduation plans for the Class of 2020.
In an April 24 letter to Lancaster seniors, principal Tara Booth expressed plans for an August 1 graduation ceremony. Given the fluid nature of any long-term planning due to the coronavirus pandemic, the district is planning for three different options, and will choose a final format for recognizing seniors that is “the least restrictive” and “based on the recommendations of the governor at the time,” said Booth.
The first option, and the one “we are all hoping for,” is a traditional graduation ceremony with all graduates and their families, she said.
The second option would be multiple smaller ceremonies with limited guests, said Booth.
