Lancaster and Northumberland athletes to compete in state indoor track meet

Lancaster High School distance runner Rory Lally is the Region 1A champion in the 1000 meter.

The LHS girls 4X400 relay team of Lally, Finley Major, Courtney Johnson and Suzie Geier also brought home the regional championship. They will lead Lancaster’s seven state qualifiers at the Virginia High School League Class 1 state indoor track meet next week at Liberty University.

Lally ran the 1000 meter in 3:22.85  at the Region 1A/2A meet at Boo Williams Sportsplex Wednesday, February 18, to lead the Lady Devils to a third-place finish.

The LHS boys team also had a regional champion in William Ball, who cleared 10’6” to win the pole vault…..
