Lancaster athletes turn in impressive performances in district track and field

Rappahannock claimed both the girls’s and boy’s Northern Neck District track meet trophies on Wednesday, May 20.

The Raiders boys scored 186 points, 64 points better than runner-up and meet host Northumberland with 122 points. Essex was a half point behind the Indians in a close race for second but finished third with 121.50. Lancaster was fourth with 89 and Westmoreland fifth, 62.50.

In the girls meet, Rappahannock finished with 163 points while Lancaster was the runner-up with 149. Northumberland was third with 82, Essex fourth, 80, and Westmoreland fifth, 74.

The top four finishers in each event, or those who reached qualifying criteria in a previous meet, advanced to this week’s Region 1A meet….
