LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, July 26, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
In the case of Matthew Q. Rosner, no address given, charged with two felonies for violating probation, an arraignment and hearing to appoint counsel was continued to October 25 as Rosner is a fugitive.
In the case of Megan C. Hill of Kilmarnock, charged with two felonies for violating probation, an arraignment was continued to October 25 as Hill is a fugitive.
In the case of Clifton O. Saul of Heathsville, charged with a felony for violating probation, an arraignment was continued to October 25.
In the case of Brittany M. Stewart of Kilmarnock, charged with two felonies for deferred disposition violations, a misdemeanor for non-compliance with the Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP) and a misdemeanor for a suspended sentence violation, an arraignment was continued to October 25.
In the case of Donald D. Vaughan, no address given, charged with four felony counts of violating probation, the arraignment was continued until October 25.
David V. Christian of Kilmarnock was granted bond after appealing a General District Court decision denying bond.
In the case of Jerod S. Gamble of Hampton, charged with two felonies for selling a Schedule I/II substance, a capias hearing was continued to October 25 as Gamble is a fugitive.
In the case of Donovan R. Gregory of White Stone, charged with two felonies for violating probation, a hearing on further disposition was continued to August 16 by the defense.
In the case of Demetria R. Key of Topping, charged with a felony for violating probation, that charge was dismissed.
In the case of James M. Veney of Newport News, charged with a felony for violating probation, a show cause hearing was scheduled for August 16.
In the case of Christopher Baublitz of Lancaster, charged with three felonies and one misdemeanor for violating probation, two felonies for abuse of a child, disregard of life; a felony for destruction of property; a felony for not reporting an accident with more than $1,000 in damage; a misdemeanor for driving on a revoked or suspended license; and two infractions for not having child restraint devices for children younger than age 8, a bench trial was continued and a status hearing scheduled for October 25.
In the case of Juan A. Norris of Williamsburg, charged with five felonies for violating probation, two of the charges were dismissed. He pleaded no contest to the three remaining charges and was given an active sentence of 12 months with 25 years and eight months suspended.
In the case of Kendrick O. Providence of Heathsville, charged with a felony for violating probation, a show cause hearing was continued and a status hearing scheduled for October 23.
In the case of Jerrick D. Saunders of Lancaster, charged with a felony and a misdemeanor for violating probation, a status hearing was continued to October 25.
Alkendra S. Coleman of Mollusk, given a deferred disposition on a felony for distributing to accommodate a Schedule I/II substance, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five years, with four years, 11 months and five days suspended. Coleman also was charged with a felony for violating probation, and three felonies for failing to appear. Those charges were nolle prossed.
In the case of Milford S. Diggs of Warsaw, charged with a felony for violating probation, a status hearing was continued and a show cause hearing was scheduled for October 25.
Grand jury
A grand jury also convened on Friday, April 26 and issued the following true bills of indictment:
Richard A. Rose of Weems was charged with a felony for obtaining drugs by fraud. A trial was scheduled for August 23.
Molly J. Kane of Kilmarnock was charged with a felony for assault on a law enforcement officer, a felony for malicious wounding and a misdemeanor for trespassing after being forbidden. Arraignments on the malicious wounding and trespass were scheduled for August 16. A trial was scheduled for September 27.
Joseph G. Green of Lancaster was charged with felonies for cruelty/injury to a child and abuse of a child, disregard for life. An arraignment was scheduled for August 16 and a jury trial will take place on December 4 and 5.
Blake A. Bundy of Heathsville was charged with a felony for possession of a Schedule I/II substance. A trial was scheduled for August 23.
Dustin K. Crandall of Weems was charged with a two misdemeanors for shoplifting. An arraignment was scheduled for August 16.
Nathan A. Walker, no address given, was charged with a felony for malicious wounding. An arraignment was scheduled for August 16.
Richard A. Grimm, no address given, was charged with a felony for malicious wounding. An arraignment was scheduled for August 16.
Stephen O. Fortune, no address given, was charged with a felony for receiving/selling stolen property greater than $200. An arraignment was scheduled for August 16.
Quinton A. Hudnall, no address given, was charged with felonies for other forgery/uttering and other forgery, employing as true. An arraignment was scheduled for August 16.
James B. Kelly Jr., no address given, was charged with two felonies for malicious shooting/throwing into an occupied building. An arraignment was scheduled for August 16.
Marsha E. Sitnik of Lancaster was charged with a felony for assault with malicious injury by acid, etc. and a felony for destruction of property greater than $1,000 with intent to steal. An arraignment was scheduled for August 16.
James H. Slater Jr. of Reedville was charged with a felony for not reporting an accident with damage greater than $1,000 and a felony for reckless driving, endangering life/limb/property. An arraignment was scheduled for August 16.
