HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened on Tuesday, July 23, for Term Day with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
Lionel L. Baker of Kilmarnock, charged with a probation violation on a felony offense, was not found. He remains a fugitive.
Chasity A. Crockett of Colonial Beach, charged with a probation violation on a felony offense, was not found. She remains a fugitive.
Franklin O. Sorrell of Farnham, charged with two counts of probation violation on a felony offense, was not found. He remains a fugitive.
In the case of Lakeya Thornton of Heathsville, charged with three counts of probation violation on a felony offense, a show cause was scheduled for October 22. Thornton also faces four counts of probation violation on a misdemeanor offense.
Daniel J. Banes of Richmond, charged with five counts of felony uttering and failure to appear on a felony offense, he was not found. Banes remains a fugitive. Banes also faces five charges of misdemeanor pretrial violation.
Kiwana Y. Garcia, a.k.a Kiwana Y. Simon, charged with failure to appear on a felony offense and failure to notify the department in a change of circumstance of over $500, she was not found. Garcia remains a fugitive.
In the case of Tammy L. Morgan of Heathsville, charged with child abuse by disregard for life, a trial was set for November 26.
In the case of Benjamin A. Schlosser of Heathsville, charged with child abuse by disregard for life, a trial was set for November 26.
In the case of John R. Burton of Lancaster, charged with three counts of distributing/selling Schedule I/II drugs, a status hearing was set for October 22.
The case of Darius D. Cutler of Callao, charged with three counts of distributing/selling Schedule I/II drugs, was nolle prossed.
In the case of Milford S. Diggs of Burgess, charged with possession of Schedule I/II drugs, a jury trial was set for August 18. Diggs also faces a misdemeanor of distribution/possession with intent to sell less than an ounce of marijuana.
In the case of Carlose Liverpool of Burgess, charged with two counts of probation violation on a felony offense, a trial was set for September 10.
In the case of Myshaun T. Porter of Burgess, charged with two counts of distributing/selling Schedule I/II drugs, a status hearing was carried over to October 22. Porter also is charged with misdemeanor pretrial violations.
In the case of Craig J. Bailey of Saluda, charged with possession of Schedule I/II drugs, driving while under the influence with a prior related felony conviction, driving on a suspended or revoked license and three counts of probation violation on a felony offense, sentencing was continued to September 24.
Kevin C. Cunningham of Callao pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of Schedule I/II drugs and was sentenced to seven years with seven years suspended. He was placed on five years of supervised probation.
In the case of Brandi N. McGehee of Newtown, charged with three counts of probation violation on a felony offense, a trial was set for September 10.
In the case of Ernest J. Polk Jr. of Heathsville, charged with probation violation on a felony offense, a plea was set for August 13.
Troy A. Walker of Heathsville pleaded guilty to violating tier three sex offender regulations. He was seated to five years with four years and six months suspended and faces $990 in costs. An additional charge of violating tier three sex offender regulations was nolle prossed.
Grand jury
A grand jury also convened Tuesday, July 23, and issued the following true bills of indictment.
William C. Crockett of Lancaster was charged with larceny by obtaining a credit card number. A status hearing was set for August 13.
Latasha L. Flannery of Callao was charged with child abuse by disregard for life. A trial was set for October 15.
Ricquon D. Jackson of Fredericksburg was charged with strangulation. A trial was set for October 15.
Bobby R. Landman III of Lottsburg was charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm while committing a felony. The case was continued to October 1.
Jerri L. Langford of Reedville was charged with grand larceny in an amount of over $1000 not personal property. A plea was scheduled for October 15.
Matthew S. Ramsey of Montpelier was charged with grand larceny in an amount of over $1000 not personal property. A plea was scheduled for October 15.
Antquan M. Rich of Heathsville was charged with larceny by obtaining a credit card number. A status hearing was set for August 13.
Charles A. Roadley of New Kent was charged with construction fraud by advance pay over $1000. A trial was set for August 27.
Rishon M. Winkler of Baltimore was charged with second degree murder, attempted second degree murder, and malicious assault resulting in an injured victim. In a related hearing, Winkler pleaded not guilty and the court found him not guilty by reason of insanity. A review was set for September 24, pending further evaluation.
