LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, May 2, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
Christopher J. Baublitz of Heathsville pleaded guilty to three felonies and a misdemeanor for violating probation and was given suspended sentences—23 years total for the felonies and 12 months for the misdemeanor.
Baublitz also was charged with two felonies for abuse of a child, disregard of life; a felony for destruction of property greater than $1,000; a felony for not reporting an accident with more than $1,000 in damage; a misdemeanor for driving on a revoked or suspended license; and two infractions for improper child restraint devices for children under eight. Those charges were nolle prossed.
In the case of Mary Beth Bowie of Petersburg, previously found not guilty by reason of insanity for assaulting a law enforcement officer, the matter was finalized and no further hearings scheduled.
