LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, February 27, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
In the case of Karyne M. Dubry of Reedville, charged with a felony for violating probation, probation was revoked and she was given a five-year suspended sentence and ordered to pay $193 in court costs.
In the case of Justin W. Wilmouth of Lancaster, charged with a felony for violating probation, a show cause hearing was scheduled for April 24.
In the case of Ana C. Carrillo of Dutton, charged with a felony for violating probation, a show cause hearing was scheduled for April 24.
In the case of Alexzandra D. Hosmer of Urbanna, charged with a felony for threats in writing and a misdemeanor for stalking with fear of death/injury, a trial was scheduled for May 8.
In the case of Michael S. Kappel of Heathsville, charged with a felony for receiving advance pay over $200 without providing service, a trial was scheduled for July 10.
In the case of Jerel L. Newton of Saluda, charged with felonies for selling/providing cocaine and violating probation, a trial was scheduled for May 22.
In the case of Steven W. Self of Weems, charged with two felonies for attempted second degree murder, two felonies for malicious shooting at a vehicle and a felony for using a firearm in committing a felony, first offense, a jury trial was scheduled for May 5 and 6.
In the case of Jeremy M. Nickens of Lancaster, charged with felonies for manufacturing/distributing a Schedule I/II substance, second offense; possessing a gun while selling a Schedule I/II substance; and being a violent felon in possession of weapon; a trial was continued and a plea hearing scheduled for March 13.
In the case of Cameron J. Thomas of Franklin, appealing a General District Court misdemeanor conviction of speeding 98 m.p.h. in a 55 m.p.h. zone, pleaded no contest to an amended charge of an infraction for speeding 15-19 over the posted limit, 55 m.p.h. in a 70 m.p.h. zone. He was fined $250 and ordered to pay $181 in court costs.
In the case of William M. Noel of Weems, charged with a felony for eluding/disregarding police, a felony for child abuse, disregard for life; 15 felonies for violating probation and a misdemeanor for driving on a suspended or revoked license, a trial was scheduled for May 8.
