
The Lancaster County Lions Club recently honored the winners of the 2022 Peace Poster Contest at an awards ceremony and dinner at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club.
As well as the three finalists and their parents, art teacher Marilyn Sprouse was in attendance and assisted Lions Club president Darrel Longest in presenting the winners with a cash award for their artistic endeavors.
“Lion Mike Petty and I reviewed 55 entrees before awarding first place to Katelyn Marshall, sixth grade, for a powerful drawing of a benevolent leader shielding their followers from others cutting words and actions,” said Peace Poster coordinator Lion Eileen Tullner.
The theme was “Lead with Compassion” and Tullner was moved by the “poignant essay” accompanying Marshall’s poster, she said.
