Lancaster eyes compensation changes for teachers and staff in proposed $22 million budget

LANCASTER—In presenting a proposed budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year, Lancaster superintendent Jessica Davis said a priority is recognizing the greater expectations and contributions of staff across the division.

“We have some hard working staff. The best way that we can value them is to compensate them appropriately,” said Davis.

During the February 9 school board meeting, Davis said that in addition to a minimum 2% pay scale adjustment for non-exempt employees—food services, transportation, custodial and instructional assistants—licensed staff would see pay raises in addition to longevity bonuses. The proposed budget also would cover an expected 20% increase in health insurance premiums. “We want to make sure….
