Ben Pittman was clutch, hitting the game-winning grounder to score the only run in a pitchers’ duel at Dream Fields April 26 when Lancaster outlasted Rappahannock, 1-0, in a nine-inning marathon.
Lancaster had runners on first and second after Creston Saunders hit a one-out single and Sean Thomas drew a walk. Pittman’s fielder’s choice grounder to second scored Saunders for the walk off.
