Lancaster High School had eight individual gold medalists and scored 183 points to win the team championship at the Northern Neck District wrestling tournament Wednesday, January 26.
Host Northumberland scored 96 as the runner-up. Essex was third with 94 and Washington & Lee was fourth with 91.
Lancaster’s Zach Rhodes, who has amassed a 17-1 record this year, was named the district’s wrestler of the year. He went 2-0, beating Washington & Lee’s Azariah Moore and Northumberland’s Devin Croson, as the 182-pound champion.
Northumberland’s Kevin Keeve was chosen as the district’s coach of the year.
