Lancaster leads all-district picks

Lancaster High School sophomore guard and head coach claimed the Northern Neck District’s two top honors as the unbeaten Red Devils led the list of all-district team last Thursday, after winning the district tournament championship, 60-36, over Westmoreland.

Troy Henderson, who has scored over 1000 points in two years, was chosen as the Northern Neck District player of the year and LHS coach Dwayne Pinn was named the coach of the year after leading his team to a 23-0 overall record, including last week’s tournament wins.

Henderson also filled a spot on the district’s first team, along with brother and senior guard Tyson Henderson, senior guard Gerrion Owens and senior forward X’zaveion Owens.

The Devils also named two to the second team including junior guard Daveon Smith and senior guard Darius Smith.

Other first team members included Kamren Robinson of Essex, Mark Delano of Rappahannock, Tyreek Lundy of Northumberland and Darrien Fauntleroy and Vaughn Harris, both of Westmoreland.

The second team included Brandon Coleman and CJ Kelly of Rappahannock, Kevin Ellis and Jordan Saunders of Westmoreland, Charles Pietras of Colonial Beach and CJ Williams of Northumberland.

Lancaster also had six players named to the district’s all-academic team including Ty. Henderson, X. Owens, G. Owens, Sean Thomas, Lamar Mattocks and Kelvin Davis.
