Lancaster leads all-region boys basketball picks

The Lancaster High School boys basketball team continues to accumulate the accolades with its leading scorer and head coach earning the Region A top honors announced last week.

Junior forward Troy Henderson, who set a new LHS career scoring record this year and averages over 26 points per outing, was chosen as the Region 1A player of the year and Red Devils head coach Dwayne Pinn was selected by peers as the coach of the year. Pinn has led Lancaster to the Northern Neck District and Region A tournament championships and the Virginia High School League Class 1 state title game with a 24-2 record. The Devils were set to defend their state title against Auburn at 8 p.m., today, March 7, in Richmond.
