LANCASTER—Following a public hearing on Thursday, June 26, Lancaster supervisors tabled a decision on proposed changes to the hunting ordinance until the August 28 meeting to allow more time to consider them.
The current proposal would allow deer hunting with rifles and pistols greater than .23 caliber from an elevated position; rifles greater than .22 caliber to hunt groundhogs between March 1 and August 31, and coyotes outside of general firearms deer season.
