Lecture to examine genealogical findings in newspapers, directories

The final session of the Lancaster Virginia Historical Society’s Genealogy Research Topics, Tools, and Tips Lecture Series will be held from 1-3 p.m. Thursday, November 4, at Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.

Sharon Hodges will present Using Newspapers and Directories in Genealogical Research. Hodges, a professional genealogist and researcher, will discuss some creative and analytical approaches to finding genealogical clues in newspapers and various types of directories. Attendees will also learn about online repositories and other ways to locate these kinds of resources.
