Lancaster High School sealed a near-perfect regular season Monday by beating Tidewater District’s Class 2 King William by 48 strokes. The win lifted Lancaster to 8-1 on the season and capped an eight-match winning streak.
The Red Devils’ only loss of the season came in the season opener to Class 3 New Kent.
Lancaster also picked up a 26-stroke win over Northern Neck District opponent Rappahannock last week, beating the Raiders, 150-176, at Quinton Oaks Golf Course to bring its district mark to 4-0. Matches against Essex, previously postponed because of weather, won’t be made up before the district tournament Wednesday, September 27, at Hobbs Hole Golf Course in Tappahannock, according to LHS coach Rob Pittman.
