Four of Lancaster’s 10 state qualifiers medaled in last weekend’s Virginia High School League Class 1 state championships and the LHS wrestlers placed eighth among 28 teams.
“I thought we had a pretty good state tournament,” said LHS coach Craig Oren. “And overall I was really pleased with our season. And now we go into next season returning two state placers and seven young wrestlers with varsity experience, six of which have state experience.”
On the way to the state tournament, the Red Devils grapplers amassed a 16-3 overall record as the Northern Neck District champion and Region 1A runner-up.
