Lancaster had several competitors finish among the top 20 in their events and multiple runners turn in a season best time last Saturday at the Cavaliers Last Chance Meet at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton.
There were 42 teams competing in the Virginia High School League-sanctioned meet.
Hailey Smith led the LHS girls team with a third-place finish and a season best time in both the 1000 meter (3:06.28) and the 1600 meter (5:33.97) races. The girls 4X400 meter relay team was ninth (4:43.63) and the 4X800 team placed 11th (13:01.40).
Lizzy Woolard came in 22nd in the 1000 meter with a season best time of 3:29.78 and Amani Roy threw the shot put 23’5” for 28th place.
