The Lancaster High School Jazz Band is preparing for their part in the Lancaster County Jazz Showcase at 7 p.m. June 8 at the Lancaster Middle School Theater, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock.
They will perform with the Lancaster Middle School Jazz Band and the Northern Neck Big Band, reported director Kenny Flester. The LHS Jazz Band will present music in different styles, including swing, latin and rock.
“I like to have them learn a variety of styles,” said director Kenny Flester. “We have music from Count Basie, Duke Ellington, the Spencer Davis Group, plus others.”
