The Lancaster High School junior varsity was scheduled to end a six-game season Wednesday, November 6, against Colonial Beach at LHS.
The JV Red Devils were 1-4 heading into the season ender against the Drifters after losing, 38-16, to Essex on October 30.

Sophomore Avantaye Owens scored the only LHS touchdown of the first half, which ended with the Trojans in front 32-6.
Freshman quarterback Khalin Howard found a hole and sprinted 50 yards for a touchdown for LHS with four minutes to play in the third. He also converted his score for two and looked to have back-to-back TDs with another big play—a 68-yard run—with a minute to play in the third but the run was negated by a holding call on the Devils.
Owens is the only sophomore on the team and Howard is one of nine freshman on the 21-player roster. Juniors, who also play varsity, are lineman Colby Crandall, end Evan Welsh and tight end/safety Noah Benson. Both Howard and Owens have also gotten some varsity playing time.
Freshmen include running back Jamarius Monroe, tight end/defensive back Branden Munda, tight end/linebacker Malakhai Carter, linemen Don’Ya Davenport, Brady Hardesty, Logan Coates, Zamir Davis, Niko Harris and Schuyler Camden. Eighth grade players include wingback Darius Chun-Long, running backs/linebackers Dashawn Williams and Jarvier Smith, running back/defensive end Jayden Rich, end Zeric Jones and linemen Garrick Owens and Brandon Laws.
