Lancaster High School, which upset both Rappahannock and Essex to win the Northern Neck District tournament championship, placed five on the all district first team and two on the second team.
The honor squad was announced May 18 following Lancaster’s 6-2 win over Essex in the tournament final.
Slade Keyser, who helped lead Rappahannock to a 15-5 record and a second-place spot in this week’s Region 1A tournament, was chosen as the district’s player of the year. Reed Harmon of Essex High School was selected by peers as the coach of the year.
Lancaster first team selections included senior pitcher Jonathan Lee, senior catcher Toni Thomas, senior second baseman Sean Thomas, junior shortstop Creston Saunders and senior outfielder Ben Pittman. Sophomore Josh Woolard was selected as a second-team pitcher and senior Eli Pittman was named a second-team outfielder.
