Lancaster High School wrestling standout Adam Wilmore, 18, will be on the mat for Averett University next year.
Wilmore signed a letter of intent to wrestle for the Division III private school last weekend with his LHS coaches and family in attendance.
“I’ve been really excited to wrestle at the next level,” said Wilmore. “Whether it’s Division I, II or III, it didn’t matter. I’m so happy I’ve got the opportunity to do this.”
The highly decorated LHS senior is a two-time Class 1 state runner-up at 195 pounds, holds several Northern Neck District and Super Regional tournament championships and was named the Region 1A wrestler of the year in February. He also holds the LHS career wins record with…
