Lancaster High School will take 10 girls and 12 boys to compete in the Class 1 state track and field meet this weekend at James Madison University.

The LHS boys team, which will compete in 11 events, is the defending state champion after winning the crown back-to-back in 2023 and 2024.
The LHS girls team will compete in eight events with defending champion Rory Lally competing in four events. She’ll defend her state championship in the 800 meter and compete in the 4X400 and 4X800 relays as well as the pole vault. Sprinter Makenzee Dagner will run the 100 and 200 meter dashes and a leg of the 4X100 relay, while Courtney Johnson and Keryona Smith will run in all three relays.
Finley Major will run the 800 and 1600 meter races and the 4X800 relay, while Liberty Pinn, Niasha Williams, Anya Taylor, Alexis Kelley and Madison Blackwell will also run relays.
