The Lancaster High School girls team won 12 events and the boys team won 10 to run away with both of the Northern Neck District track meet championships last Thursday in Claraville.
Lancaster’s Domonique Veney scored 40 points and Tanashia Henderson 30.5 to be named the meet’s most valuable players.
In the boys event, Lancaster scored 203.5 points, 68 points better than second-place Rappahannock with 135.5 points. Washington & Lee was third with 88 and Essex fourth with 38.
Veney dominated the distance races and two field events with four gold medal performances. He paced the pack in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:54.5 and won the two mile in 10:52.96. Teammate Zach Kane was the runner-up in…
