Little League food drive is successful

Lancaster County Little League’s first drop-and-drive fundraiser was a success, according to Lancaster County Youth Club president Dwight Forrester.

Between 50 and 60 vehicles passed through the new parking lot at Dream Fields in Kilmarnock last Saturday morning to donate items to the Healthy Harvest Food Bank (HHFB).

The Little League was supposed to celebrate opening day of the 2020 season, but instead opted to get its ball families and the community involved in helping others with a food drive.

“Even though it was raining some, we had a good turnout,” said Forrester. “And if the food bank is still in need in another month, we may look at having another one.”
