The Sharon Baptist Church Men’s Ministry will hold its annual Men’s Day/Veterans Day observance at 11 a.m. Sunday, November 12, at the church, 1413 Lumberlost Road, Weems.
The guest speaker will be retired U.S. Army Major Doug Willie.
“All veterans are invited to celebrate with us,” said Lloyd Hill.
Maj. Willie lives in Mathews, N.C. He is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University in Texas. His military education includes Field Artillery Basic Course, Field Artillery Officer Advance Course and Command and General Staff College.
During his 20-year military career, Maj. Willie had two assignments at Fort Sill, Okla., two tours in Germany, Fort Benning, Ga., Fort Wainwright, Alaska, Dallas, Texas, Beckley, W.Va. and Charlotte, N.C.
