REEDVILLE—Margaret “Peggy” Blackwell Gough, 83, of Reedville passed away peacefully Sunday, September 25, 2022.
Peggy was the youngest daughter of Stuart and Imogene Blackwell, and was raised in Remo.
A graduate of Northumberland High School, and later Longwood University, Peggy was a teacher in the Northumberland County School system for over 50 years. The librarian for both Fairfields Elementary school and then Northumberland Elementary School, multiple generations of students got to know and love Mrs. Gough.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Clarence; her parents; her brother, Ashby; and her sister, Lucy.
She is survived by her son, Stuart Gough of Reedville; her grandchildren, Ashlyn, Brayden, Naomi Gough and their mother, Jennifer Gough; grandson, Finnegan Gough and his mother, Caiti Hall; one great-granddaughter, Jocelynn Campbell; sister, Gene Derrickson of Mechanicsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 8, at Roseland Cemetery, Reedville.
