FAIRPORT—Marie Crockett Evans, 89, of Fairport passed away on February 5, 2026.
She was born on December 7, 1936, on Tangier Island to Merrell and Alma Crockett. She moved to Fairport after her marriage to Bobby Evans and resided there until her death.
Marie is survived by her son, Robert Merrell Evans; her sister, Darlene Laird; her grandson, Kyle Evans (Jen); her great-grandchildren, Gavin, Hannah and Harper Evans; her step-granddaughter, Vickie Evans and her husband, Glenn, and children Daric, Julie and Justin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby; and son, Vernon Evans.
A funeral service was held at Tibitha Church of God on Tuesday, February 10, with interment at Roseland Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gavin Evans, Daric Evans, Nick Laird, Spencer Headley, Scott Rogers and Troy Jett.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tibitha Church of God, P. O. Box 167, Reedville, VA 22539.
Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
