
FROSTPROOF, FL—Mary Lee Lea, 83, of Frostproof, Florida, formerly of Kilmarnock, quietly departed this life on May 30, 2023.
She was born Mary Virginia Lee Dawson on October 4, 1939, the daughter of the late William Lee and Virginia Marie Dawson. She was the oldest of six siblings.
Mary Lee, “Lee Lee” was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and companion. She loved life and was a beacon of light to everyone she met, always willing to lend a hand no matter what the circumstances.
She is survived by a son, John Henry Lea Jr. of Florida; two daughters, Teresa L. Lea of Mechanicsville and Cynthia Lea Balderson (Rick) of White Stone; a brother, Philip G. Dawson (Brenda) of Remo; a sister, Betty D. Katsilometes (George) of Pocatello, Idaho; five grandchildren, J. Bryan Keyser, Christopher W. Keyser (Taylor), Douglas V. Lea, Justin L. Parks and Samantha N. Parks; one great-granddaughter, Sadie K. Keyser; one great-grandson, Mason C. Gilbert; her life companion, Robert H. “Bubba” Lampie Jr.; and several devoted nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by a baby sister, Sandra Jean Dawson; and two brothers, W. Franklin Dawson and Stanley P. Dawson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 8, at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock, by the Rev. Richard Abbott.
