Taylor Stuart Hayden

KILMARNOCK—Taylor Stuart Hayden died May 29, 2023.

Taylor came roaring into this world on April 9, 2003. He was born to Valarie Lynn Taylor and Michael Stuart Hayden in Kilmarnock, the only one of us who is not a “come here.”

Taylor attended Rappahannock High School, Northumberland High School and ultimately graduated from Liberty University Online Academy. He was also a student at Liberty University Online, preparing to complete his associate’s in history.

Taylor was a volunteer with the Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department, a former employee of Newsome’s Restaurant and a communications officer for the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office. His ultimate dream was to become a professional firefighter.

Taylor is survived by his parents, Michael and Valarie Hayden; brothers, James Michael Kelley Jr. and Carl Wayne Hayden; grandparents Carl and Kathleen Hayden; and a host of extended family.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Donald Wayne, and Doris Jean Taylor.

Taylor is also survived by his second family, Talmadge and Casey Newsome, and their family, whom he worked for, played with, and who helped him to grow professionally and spiritually.

In this life there will always be more questions than answers. We can only pray that Taylor has found peace and remembers the good he did while he was here.

There will be a Mass in Taylor’s honor at 11 a.m. Friday, June 9, at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, 413 Timothy Lane, Tappahannock.

There will also be a Celebration of Taylor’s life from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at the Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department, 119 Main Street, Reedville.

These services are open to anyone who was touched by Taylor’s short time in this world.

The family is asking that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 656, Burgess, VA 22432, or fairfieldsfire.com.
